San Borja, Beni

This weekend Mary and I had the opportunity to travel to the home of one of my English students. It was a long bus ride which took us to a whole different side of Bolivia. Thank you Claudia for an incredible weekend!

"Horno de barro" Brick/clay oven used to roast pork chops for her brothers' graduation party.

"Ch'arque" Jerkey. That's actually a Quechua word adopted into the English language. Sun-dried lamb.
Appetizers

Sunset meant relief from the 90 degree heat.
The "batán" used for grinding, in this case peppers.
